Hi, this is Alex Webb. Rebecca Norris Webb and I are pleased to be taking over Leica’s IG today. We are here at Photo London for my “Selections” exhibition, which opens today at Leica in Somerset House’s Navy Board Room - as well as for our joint talk (“Slant Rhymes,” Saturday, May 21, noon) and two book signings on the weekend. For this Leica takeover, we will be posting a series of what we call “slant rhymes” - pairings of our respective photographs, that somehow “talk” to one another in intriguing ways, sometimes thanks to a shared palette, sometimes due to an affinity for a surreal or surprising moment, sometimes because of something too elusive to pinpoint. This first photograph of mine, “Havana, 1993,” comes from our joint book and MFA, Boston, exhibition, Violet Isle: A Duet of Photographs from Cuba. Rebecca will subsequently post her “slant rhyme” to this photograph, as well as her thoughts on the nature of collaboration. - Alex Webb (AW) [Photo: Alex Webb, Havana 1993, from Violet Isle, Radius Books, 2009] #Leica #LeicaCamera #LeicaCulture #PhotoLondonFair16 #AlexWebb #RebeccaNorrisWebb #Selections #🔴📷 @webb_norriswebb
